    Papachs

They differ in both the type of fur and the length of the bristles.

Before World War I, hats were most often sewn from bear, ram and wolf fur, these types of hair best helped to soften the blow of a saber.

There were also ceremonial hats. For officers and servants, they were trimmed with a silver braid 1.2 centimeters wide.

From 1915, Siberian Cossack troops wore hats like a cone with short fur.

For sergeants, sergeants and cadets, a white cross-shaped tape was sewn onto the cap, and for officers, a braid was also sewn in addition to the tape.

After the 1918 revolution, restrictions were imposed on the wearing of the national costume for the Cossacks. Papahas have been replaced with budion hats.
