The NSDAP was founded in Munich in 1920 as a successor to the German Workers' Party.

It was led by Adolf Hitler, who gave it a nationalist, racist, and anti-Semitic character.

After the failed Beer Hall Putsch in 1923, the party was banned, but later regained its influence.

Thanks to propaganda and the economic crisis, it gained increasing support, becoming the largest party in the Reichstag in 1932.

On January 30, 1933, Hitler became Chancellor, and the NSDAP quickly abolished democracy and established a totalitarian regime.

The party held full power in the Third Reich, pursuing a policy of aggression and persecution.

Its activities led to the outbreak of World War II, the Holocaust, and the fall of Germany in 1945, after which it was banned.

The caps are for students and instructors of NSDAP schools, known as Ordensburgs (there were three: Vogelsang, Sonthofen, and Krössinsee).
