The nobleman's cap in Poland was a traditional element of nobleman's attire from the 16th to 18th centuries. It was characterised by its conical shape, made of velour or silk. Richly decorated with gold embroidery, feathers and metal elements, the cap reflected the social status of the wearer. The wearing of a nobleman's cap was associated with social privileges, and its appearance was indicative of the owner's wealth. Although it has now fallen out of use, nobility caps are being reconstructed and used for historical purposes, reminding us of Poland's rich culture and history.
