    The Border Guard was established in 1928 under the Act. It was a key element of the defense system of the Second Polish Republic.

    Its main duties included:

    Protection of the state border against all violations, including illegal border crossing and smuggling.

    Ensuring security in border areas and preventing espionage and sabotage activities.

    Control of border traffic, including passenger and goods traffic, which had economic and political significance

    The Border Guard was divided into various operational units deployed along the state border. Officers were carefully trained, and their activities were coordinated at the central level. The formation included special infantry, horse and motor units, and modern technologies such as communication equipment were also used.

    It is worth mentioning that in addition to its protective function, the Border Guard also had a representative dimension. Khaki uniforms and characteristic markings emphasized the seriousness and importance of the formation.
