Russian Liberation Army (German: Russische Befreiungsarmee, Russian) armed formation composed mainly of Russians, but also of representatives of other nationalities (mainly Cossacks, but also Ukrainians and representatives of the nations of Central Asia). During World War II, its soldiers were colloquially called Vlasovtsy.

The creation of the Russian Liberation Army is inextricably linked with the person of Lieutenant General of the Red Army, Andrei A. Vlasov.

In fact, ROA military units were never established, and the formation itself was mainly of a propaganda nature. This was due to the strong opposition of Adolf Hitler, who did not believe in the loyalty of Russian soldiers, and General A. A. Vlasov himself, placed under house arrest on the order of the Führer in July 1943. The only exception was the Guards ROA battalion, formed in May 1943 in Wrocław and then moved to Psków.
