    Gymnastics Society "Sokół" - a pioneering organization of physical education and sports in Poland. The oldest Polish gymnastics society, whose members contributed, among others, to the popularization of gymnastics in Polish society, the establishment of many sports clubs and the Polish Scouting Association[1]. "Sokół" operated during the partitions, after regaining independence and throughout the interwar period of the 20th century. It was outlawed by the communists after World War II and banned during the Polish People's Republic. The first nests of the reactivated "Sokół" began to be established only after the fall of communism in Poland in 1989 in the Third Republic of Poland.
