The rogatywka of the Polish Army in France ("Blue Army")

The Polish Army in France, established on 4 June 1917 by decree of President Raymond Poincaré, was organized according to French regulations and equipped with light blue uniforms (bleu horizon), to which Polish national symbols were added. Soldiers wore rogatywkas in the color of their uniforms - in the officer version with a peak, and for NCOs and privates without a peak. From 1919, all soldiers were allowed to wear rogatywkas with peaks. In addition to eagles of various designs, the headgear featured a French rifle bugle and dark green piping, a symbol of the light infantry. Due to the rapid development of the formation and supply difficulties, rogatywkas often differed in appearance. After the dissolution of the "Blue Army" in September 1919, they were worn until the end of the Polish-Bolshevik war.
