    The 2nd Drozdovsky Regiment was formed from General Mikhail Drozdovsky's unit, who led volunteers in the "Drozdovsky March" from Romania to the Don in 1918.

    It then became part of General Denikin's Volunteer Army and was transformed into a rifle regiment, renowned for its iron discipline and bravery. It fought in, among other battles, the "Kuban March" and the fortification of Rostov-on-Don, earning a reputation as an elite White unit.

    After Drozdovsky's death in 1919, it took his name. It participated in fighting in southern Russia and in the retreat through Crimea.

    After the defeat of the White Army in 1920, some of the soldiers were evacuated with Wrangel to Gallipoli, where they completed their service.
