The Mazepanka originates from the time of Hetman Ivan Mazepa, who held power in Ukraine. Popular among Cossacks and Ukrainian nobility, the cap symbolises fighting spirit and national pride. During the period of the Cossack wars, the Mazepanka was worn by hetmans and officers, becoming an essential part of military attire.
